Manpower and waste removal donated to worthy project

Binn Group, Scotland’s leading independent recycling and waste management company, is offering charities and community groups the chance to secure a dream Spring clean in their innovative Charity Clean-Up Competition.
The Glenfarg-based industry leaders have put together a £2,000 prize package that will see one lucky cause secure both free manpower and waste removal services. This community-focussed giveaway could help turn cluttered, run-down premises into good-to-go project bases or overgrown littered gardens into potential oases.

Binn Group Chief Executive Allan MacGregor explained that the family-run business has always been keen to support community projects and initiatives where possible. Now they plan to use their expertise to help others through a major community support project. “Clearing sites or buildings and removing waste can often seem a daunting – if not impossible – task for a charity or community group,” said Allan. “But this is all in a day’s work for Binn Group and we will happily supply men and resources in this one-off competition to tackle the problem in support of a worthwhile cause.”

Organisations are being asked to submit their bid for the prize by detailing their project and their clean-up problem. This can range from clearing out a garden area to gutting office premises but the project MUST be charity or community based and within a 25 mile radius of the Binn Group recycling complex at Glenfarg.

“We know that many initiatives struggle to get off the ground and this prize package could prove a lifeline to one which is stymied in its ambitions by the state of its premises or site,” said Allan. “It could also address clearance and clean-up issues experienced by others keen to progress. The options are limitless and we hope all charities and community groups will consider how best this prize would serve them in the coming months.”.

The prize package will include:

Five operatives for a day;
Skips and removal of all waste
Project promotion through Binn Group media platforms
Entries are invited before the competition closing date on June 30. Entries can be made online by visiting www.binngroup.co.uk and filling in the appropriate form.

A judging panel will decide the winner which will be announced by mid-July. The prize must then be used within three months of that announcement.
