Recycling to a tee

Blairgowrie Golf Club has teamed up with Binnwaste Management to get their waste recycling – quite literally – down to a tee.

Talking rubbish – Blairgowrie Golf Club managing secretary (left) and Binnwaste Management general manager Iain Taylor with one of the new sponsored litter bins on the Rosemount course tees.

A new sponsorship deal with the Glenfarg-based waste management experts has seen new litter bins provided at all tees on the championship Rosemount course.

The particular long-life eco-friendly bins chosen by Binnwaste mean that golfers on the prestigious course – selected to host the 2014 Junior Ryder Cup – will have the use of tee-side litter bins throughout even the harshest winter months for the first time ever.

Blairgowrie GC managing secretary Dougie Cleeton said the whole club was “delighted” with the sponsorship deal. “It made sense for a large club that is aspiring to become more environmentally friendly and recycling aware to team up with one of the best waste management companies in the business,” he said. “The litter bins look great and have been very favourably commented on by members and visitors playing the Rosemount. “We’re delighted to work in partnership with Binnwaste Management to secure this course-enhancing addition to our facilities at Blairgowrie Golf Club.”

Binnwaste Management general manager Iain Taylor said they were always happy to work with businesses and the community to develop and enhance recycling initiatives. “We’re more than happy to sponsor the litter bins for the Rosemount course and ensure that golfers can play their part in recycling and keeping what is a beautiful course free from litter.”
