Stirling Council has contracted Binn Group to handle all their 3-D plastics and cans waste.

Binn Group has a 17-month contract – with the possibility to extend for a further year – to collect all waste in these categories from Stirling Council’s facility at Lower Polmaise and transfer it to their Glenfarg complex for further recycling.

Aluminium and steel cans will be recycled as cans, while plastics will be processed for a variety of recycled plastic products – offering a full circle recycling service.

And Perth and Kinross Council has expanded its glass recycling contract with Binn Group by adding clear and mixed glass to the previous green and amber categories handled for them by the Glenfarg-based operation.

This new two-year contract sees all glass streams collected by the council being handled at Binn Group’s new Shore Road Recycling Centre for segregation and recycling.

Binn Group Commercial Director Jim Brown said both contracts reinforced the faith being placed in the company by local authorities. “We’re delighted to be working with local councils to guarantee the best possible processing and outsourcing of these waste streams as we all endeavour to maximise the positive impact of waste management for the environment.”
