Binn Group teamed up with St Johnstone FC to provide a special festive surprise for deserving Saints fans.
Nominations flooded in for the Binn Group Christmas Giveaway after St Johnstone players and manager Tommy Wright launched the festive appeal.
A hugely popular launch video featuring players dressed as Santa, Christmas elves and the Gringe helped attract nominations on behalf of fans who were deserving of some special Christmas cheer.
And the winners were treated to a surprise visit to their home by Saints’ star players travelling in a Binn Group refuse vehicle “sleigh”, decked out in thousands of twinkling Christmas lights – all with some special presents for the delighted fans.
Binn Group commercial director Jim Brown said it was great to work with the Premiership team to bring joy to a few special fans at Christmas.
“I was genuinely humbled by how moved people were and to see how much it meant to them,” he said. “They were really appreciative.
“As St Johnstone’s main sponsor, Binn Group was delighted to provide the transport to deliver this special Christmas surprise for the chosen fans,” added Jim. “Their genuine reactions to a visit from the players bearing gifts exceeded all our expectations and made the whole scheme worthwhile.”
Helping deliver some Christmas cheer to deserving fans were Santa’s little elves Skipper Joe Shaughnessy, striker Tony Watt and midfielders Murray Davidson and Danny Swanson.
